About

Built On Purpose

One night, racing down the highway at 1:30am on a supersport motorcycle built for the track with half a dozen of my stunt crew, a car about 200 yards in front of me suddenly started to spin out of control. Whoa! I have always said that if you are going to drive fast, you need to react fast. In that moment, slowing down did not look like a good option. The car was spinning and a choice needed to be made. When situations like this happen, time stops and my instincts sharpen. I make a choice, commit and do not flinch.

So I sped up.

My bike and I slipped between the spinning car and the divider and came out the other side clean. No one else in my crew followed. Maybe not the smartest move and was definitely a full pucker moment.

But I was calm, which is what mattered.

I saw the opening, trusted my read and took it. That is my baseline. I have always been calm in situations that make other people’s brains start buffering.

So when people see my videos and are asking if my pictures of sharks are real, if I was there and if I really swam with those sharks, it’s always puzzled me. Being underwater with sharks, rays, turtles and coral gardens in gorgeous water is probably the least dangerous pastime I have ever loved. It does not feel reckless to me. It feels peaceful. It feels electric. It feeds my soul.

Who Cyan Knox Is

I am Cyan Knox, founder of FIND YOUR XANADU, former Wall Street trader, underwater explorer, life architect, obsessive chef, disciplined reader, Doberman handler and woman with a camera roll that looks slightly suspicious to people who think adventure means brunch in a different zip code. I have spent my life following what makes me grin. Creating the kind of plans that make people say they wish they had my life.

That sentence always stops me.

Because most of the time, they can.

Yet people still find excuses as to why they can’t come along. They bring out the list: Too busy. Too complicated. Too expensive. Too scary. Too late. Too much planning. Too many responsibilities.

I understand real life has logistics. I have them too. But at some point, the excuses become a habit. Someday becomes a holding pattern. Living vicariously through someone else becomes the consolation prize. For me, the adrenaline has always been the constant. Always the faster, harder, more alive version of the available options. I have learned that the most important part is the energy I want around me. The ocean has become less of a pastime and more of a home base. A place to reset, recalibrate and remember what actually matters.

FIND YOUR XANADU is what came from paying attention to that signal. It exists because I am done pretending that the life we secretly want should stay theoretical. FYX is where I document the framework for choosing more. More vitality. More awe. More strength. More beauty. More courage. More proof that a life can be intentionally built instead of passively inherited. This is the platform built to document the framework. Four pillars. One methodology. A system that works whether the next decision is booking a flight to French Polynesia, redesigning a morning protocol or rebuilding the standards that govern who gets access to my time and energy.

What She Believes

  • I believe adventure should be a lifestyle. It is a practice. It is how you remind your nervous system that you are still alive, still capable and still allowed to be surprised.

  • I believe your body is your longest-running asset. Every dream you have still has to be lived through your energy, strength, metabolism, muscles, mitochondria, breath and brain. Treating cellular health, inflammation and muscle density as a daily practice matters because what is the point of building a beautiful life if you are too depleted to enjoy it?

  • I believe your life is shaped by what you repeatedly consume. Food. Books. Conversations. Environments. Color. Light. Music. Movement. People. Places. Ideas. Every input becomes an instruction.

  • I believe deferred joy collapses under its own weight. Weekly joy is the strategy. The version of life that starts someday is always a worse version than the one started imperfectly now.

  • I believe responsibility is real. Bills are real. Work is real. Training, obligations, logistics and deadlines are real. But you also have a responsibility to yourself. A responsibility to explore what draws you most in this world. A responsibility to enjoy being alive while you are alive.

  • I believe discipline is the most luxurious thing a woman can have. The freedom on the other side of a consistent practice cannot be purchased any other way.

  • I believe you should explore. Enjoy. Do. Play. Stop wasting your precious time waiting for someday.

What You Will Find Here

You will find real microadventure itineraries, not mood boards pretending to be plans. Plenty of practical ways to reset your mind, interrupt autopilot and remember that your life does not have to be lived inside the same small loop.

There will be high-protein protocols built for muscle retention and longevity. Biohacking that translates to a full life. Habit stacking systems that survive airports and time zones.

You will find dopamine-rich environments built intentionally, not accidentally. Homes with color, plants, texture, ritual, light and sensory cues that support the person you are becoming.

You will find travel frameworks for women who bring their courage, discernment and ability to make a plan. Sometimes that means starting with traveling to a farmer’s market in another town to change perspective.

The point is not copying my life. The point is remembering you are allowed to build your own.

A Few True Things About Cyan

  • My European Doberman is a service animal and the most frequent co-pilot on road trips, including a standing route to Ocean Beach, San Diego, Sedona and Flagstaff. We train constantly. He has skills, standards and a work ethic.

  • Hanging out with sharks across French Polynesia: Tikehau, Fakarava, Huahine, Rangiroa, Bora Bora, Tetiaroa and Mo’orea. The plan is to keep going until I run out of atolls.

  • The adrenaline factor is non-negotiable. Maximizing every waking moment makes me happy. You’d be surprised how much fun I can pack into 48 hours.

  • I live in shorts. The rest is situational: sneakers, stilettos or fins.
  • Pink hair is a constant, but the shade is not. The ocean edits it from bold to barely there. If I come back nearly white, just know it took hours of adventure to get there.

  • Cold-brewed green tea is a daily ritual. A shot of ginger and lemon juice sets the tone for every morning. I’ve made the kitchen my ally.

  • One book per week. Topics rotate through bromatology, neuroscience, anti-aging, nutrition science, military strategy and occasionally the history of a vegetable. I have opinions on all of it, especially tomatoes.

  • Actively building a life worth loving. Documenting everything.

What Brought You Here

If something in your life is misaligned with what you imagined for it, the right response is to start building. The circumstances are the raw material. The framework is what changes what gets built from them.

Build A Life You Love is a practice.

Start anywhere.

The only version that fails is the one that stays on the vision board.
